Sir,

I am directed to acknowledge the receipt

of your letter of 11th May regarding the Hong Kong

branch of the Chinese Telegraph Administration

and to inform you that in the absence of any of-

ficial notification from the National Government

through His Majesty's Minister, this Government

is unable to recognize any transfer of the charge

of this office.
